Day 308: 28th January 2010

My first Project 365 featured here in 2010 after a long hiatus – Freaking awesome Malaccan Cendol.

A day trip to Malacca with good food and even better company.

Albeit the sun was blazing a little more than usual today, this nomz here hit the spot just right. :) Did the usual touristy thing eventhough some of us have seen the fort and churches over a dozen times. Of course, eating was part of our main agenda too lah. :) Oh and did I mention that I really like Malacca? Mainly because it’s so well kept. All the buildings are nicely painted and it’s good to see clean sidewalks and working amenities for a change. Looks like Malaysia does have hope after all.

For two weeks, he was mugging for his finals and I for my thesis. Needless to say, the both of us needed a time-out session badly. So badly that in less than one hour upon touching down in JB, he zoomed us right off to Singapore. Haha.

Can you see the excitement on our faces? :p (And my crooked teeth wtf)

bubbletea!

After weeks of non-stop rain in KL, it felt so good to have sunshine on my skin. And the first thing we got ourselves to complement the heat was a cup of bubble tea each.

Can you believe that after just three months since my last visit, another new pretty mall comes along! And trust you me when I say that Singaporeans LOVE to shop. We were in Orchard on a week day and yet, the street was filled with people like as if it were a public holiday. Not that I’m complaining because heck, the whole pack-like-sardine atmosphere kinda helped build the Christmas mood up. I like, I like. :)

sunset

We made our way up to the rooftop of Ochard Central just in time to catch the sun setting behind the city’s skyscrappers. Which was just so so pretty!

heh

Heh. I couldn’t help myself lah.

I have nothing but absolute love for this place albeit the fact that my heart screams in pain most of the time I walk into a shop and out empty-handed. -_-

With the help of the mighty Twitter and KYSpeaks, I stumbled upon Cristang – a restaurant which serves, from what I heard, one of the best pork burgers in the Klang Valley. So that was it lah. The carnivore in me knew I had to have it. I mean, it’s pork burger for crying out loud! Hurr. /salivates

As Sam’s 21st was approaching, I jumped the opportunity to gather close friends for a celebration. And where else better to have it than at Cristang’s? :D

Maggi goreng at 1am.

Bestttt.

I really should’ve just let Jee have that 3-in-1 nescafe. Instead, I happily gulped it down with marsmallows even. Not very smart. Because, three hours later and I’m here having caffeine and sugar rush at 5am.

Regret giler. T_T

How was your Merdeka celebration like?

Earlier.. Ben, a couple of his friends, Drew and I ditched the poker table for about 20 minutes and made our way to Taman Paramount’s Shell station. Hoping to catch a glimpse of some fireworks at the KLCC-KL Tower area, we were much disappointed with this year’s turnout. :( Even Genting seemed more happening with the celebration.

How come ah?

Quickie update:

Thursday: Tasty Pot Steamboat with the Uni Gang.

In my opinion, Yuen’s Steamboat seems like a far cry from this one. Its cleaner, had more variety of dishes and its chicken wings were yummier than Yuen’s too! I enjoyed the tom yam soup so much that two days later, I visited the place again with Drew. :p

The only thing that bugged me from this restaurant was this:

How the heck can anyone eat something that has a smiley face on it lah? T_T

Friday: Envy Club with the H-Factor team.

After months since Leonard first asked us drop by Envy Club, we agreed that it was best we do so before the next semester begin. I must say though that it has been years since I’ve first “clubbed” and till now, I’m not very fond of it. The loud pounding music, the flashing lights kinda gives me a headache after a while. Pathetic, kan? :( Plus, if you remember that I can’t drink and dance all that much.. it really is saddening. -_-

Saturday: KLCC with Drew.

After all the hype from Twitter, I thought we’d give Boost Juice a try and it surely did not dissapoint! :)

Ben (Drew’s neighbour) had a small gathering at his place later that night. It was all good with the food and company. :) Learned to throw a frisbee after dinner, realized I’m quite a natural (chewah chewah!) at it and kinda exerted my sprained thumb two hours later. -_-

Haih. So clever.
